The first waterfall at the Dongjiangyuan is counted as the most distinguishing scenic spot across Sanbai Mountain, 0.5 km north of the Volcano Jade Pool, which makes the iconic landscape with its majestic drop close to 100 m.
The Chinese characters "Dongjiangyuan" inscribed in the cliff on the left side of the waterfall, were titled by Mr. Ye Xuanping, former vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee. Both its sides are precipitous cliffs with towering trees. Roughly 50 m to its right perches a natural Glass Viewing Stand, a protruding giant rock admitting dozens of visitors. Around its edge stand clustered odd trees, forming a godsend balustrade, defending tourists for waterfall viewing. Far in the distance, the broad view rolls out a relaxing and refreshing portrait of green mountains among a vast stretch of forests.
