On the southern edge of the Sanbai Mountain core area, the Volcano Jade Pool on the volcano is secluded in a small inter mountain basin, formed naturally with an area of 0.2 km2 and a sea level of 900 m.

The pool used to be a crater several hundreds of millions of years ago, thus gaining the reputation as "The Volcano Jade Pool", Yaochi, namely abode of fairy mother goddess. The lake retains water at a certain level all year round, also labeled as "source lake". Hidden in surrounding high mountains and dense forests, the paradise remains isolated far from human habitation.
