The Yongzhen lounge bridge, listed among national key protected cultural relics, is located in Yongzhen village, Xinlong Township, west of Anyuan County, Jiangxi Province, built in 1652, the 9th year of Shunzhi Emperor’s reign in Qing Dynasty.
The bridge, 38.5 m long and 4.33 m wide, has its bridge top uniquely blended with houses. The multi-storied building straddles bridge holes, with Chinese fir wood beams erected on stone bridge piers. Quite different from ordinary others, Yongzhen Lounge Bridge displays a design featuring ingenious application of ancient Chinese wood building technology in stone arch bridge.
Overlooked from afar, this bridge, like a spanning rainbow against pavilions, adds marvellous strokes to the breath-taking landscape.
