"SanBai Mountain Cup" Poetry, Lyrics and Couplets Competition Call for Entries Notice

The year 2026 marks the beginning of the "..." plan. To vividly record and praise the new chapter of ecological civilization construction in An Yuan County, after thorough consideration, the "Ba San Shan Cup" Poetry, Ci and Rong Competition has been decided to be held. We are now inviting original works from all poetry, ci and rong enthusiasts and professionals across the country. The specific matters are as follows:

II. Competition Theme

Trace the source of the Dongjiang River · Oxygen rejuvenates Sanbaishan.

III. Requirements for the Work

The content of the work must be positive and uplifting, with strong ideological and artistic qualities, in accordance with the rules of rhythm and rhyme, in line with the theme of the competition, and reflecting the concept of ecological civilization and the unique features of the scenic area.

2. The work must be entirely original by the author, and the creative materials must be sourced from the Sanba Mountain Scenic Area or Dongshengwei Scenic Area, with a high degree of connection to the scenic spots.

3. The genres include traditional regulated verse, lyrics, songs, and couplets. Poems are restricted to either the "Pingshui Rhyme" or the "New Rhyme" system, but the "New Rhyme" system must be explicitly indicated. Lyrics are limited to the "Ci Lin Zhengyun" system, and songs are restricted to either the "Zhongyuán Yinyun" or the "Tongyun" system, with the "Tongyun" system also needing to be explicitly indicated.

4. Each participant is limited to submitting one piece of work (either poem, lyric, song, or couplet) from among the four categories. Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of 2 pieces (either poems or lyrics). The members of the review panel are not restricted in their submissions but will only be invited for exchange and will not participate in the awarding process.

5. Only electronic versions of submissions are accepted. No paper manuscripts will be accepted. Please indicate the author's real name, contact number, and detailed mailing address at the end of the submitted work. The subject line of the email should be "300 Mountain Cup" Submission.

7. Submission Deadline: June 30, 2026. The submission will not be accepted if it is received after this date. Please note that it will not be considered if it is sent after the deadline.

IV. Evaluation Process

A review panel composed of experts from the provincial poetry and calligraphy community was hired. The review process adopted an anonymous numbering system, categorized evaluation, and independent scoring methods to ensure the fairness and impartiality of the entire awarding process.

V. Award Setup

The awards will be divided into four categories: poetry, lyrics, songs, and couplets. The rewards include cash and cultural tourism products, and all recipients will be presented with honorary certificates:

First Prize: 1 winner for each category, with a value of 3169 yuan (including a 1000-yuan bonus + a 369-yuan deluxe room at Sanba International Hotel + 10 sets of Sanba and Dongsheng Villas tickets, totaling 1800 yuan).

Second Prize: 2 winners in each category, with a value of 1868 yuan (including a 600-yuan bonus + a standard room at Qiu'ning Prince Orchard Hotel for one night at 188 yuan + 6 tickets for Sanbaoshan and Dongshengwei Combo Tour at 1080 yuan).

Third Prize: 3 winners in each category, with a total value of 926 yuan (including a prize of 300 yuan + a 86-yuan脐橙小王子 doll + 3 sets of 300 Mountain and Dongsheng tickets priced at 540 yuan).

Certificate of Excellence: 20 winners in each category, valued at 360 yuan (including two tickets for Sanba Mountain and Dongshengwei).

VI. Relevant Matters

The organizers have the rights to review all the entries, award prizes, conduct public welfare publicity and promotion, and compile and publish the works. No additional remuneration will be paid.

2. The results of the selection will be announced on the official WeChat公众号 of Jiangxi Poetry Society, Jiangxi Calligraphy and Painting Society， and Gan'nan Poetry and Calligraphy Society， as well as in the society's group. The first， second and third prize works， along with some of the outstanding works， will be published in "Gan'nan Poetry and Calligraphy".

3. After the event, the editor compiled the "300 Mountain Cup" Poetry, Lyrics and Couplets Competition collection and presented books as gifts to the contributors.

Introduction to the Sanbaoshan Scenic Area

The Sanbaoshan Scenic Area is located in the southeast of An Yuan County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It was newly rated as the 14th National 5A-level Scenic Area in Jiangxi Province in July 2022, and it is the 2nd National 5A-level Scenic Area in Ganzhou City.

The Sanbaoshan Mountain is the source of the Dongjiang River and the birthplace of drinking water for people in Guangdong and Hong Kong regions. It is the first batch of ecological demonstration education bases for protecting the mother river actions in China, a national key scenic area, a national forest park, a natural oxygen bar in China, a recommended destination for Hong Kong and Macao youth study tours, a national sports tourism excellent scenic area, and an ecological health care tourism garden in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Sanbaoshan Mountain is located in the intersection area of the residual ranges of Wuyi Mountain and Nanling Mountain, and it is situated at the junction of Jiangxi, Guangdong and Fujian provinces. Sanbaoshan began to be developed and utilized in the mid-1980s of the last century. In ancient times, the people living on the mountain commemorated three elders and named the mountain "Sanbaoshan". Because the pronunciation of "elder" and "hundred" in Hakka dialect is the same, the name "Sanbaoshan" was simplified to "Sanbaoshan" by using its phonetic similarity.

The highest point of Sanbaoshan is 1,169 meters above sea level. The planned total area is 197 square kilometers, spanning five towns: Xinshan, Fengshan, Gaoyunshan, Zhengang and Sanbaoshan. The core scenic area covers 36 square kilometers. The areas officially open to tourists include Fuzitiantang, Zhiyinquan and Dongfeng Lake. There are six unique attractions in the scenic area: highland lake, volcanic landform, source group waterfall, three hundred peaks, original forest sea and canyon dangerous rapids. The scenic area has various transportation options, including cable cars, boats, battery-powered sightseeing vehicles, small trains and buses, allowing you to have a comfortable and fast tour within the scenic area, saving time and energy.

At present, 271 families and 1,702 species of higher woody plants have been discovered within the boundaries of Sanbaoshan. The main species include Pinus massoniana, Castanopsis hystrix, Cinnamomum camphora, Castanopsis fargesii, Liriodendron chinense, Cercis chinensis, and Acer truncatum. Among them, there are 5 species of national first-class protected plants (Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Taxus chinensis, Ginkgo biloba, Cunninghamia lanceolata, and Platycladus orientalis), and 12 species of national second-class protected plants (Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Taxus chinensis, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Magnolia denudata, and Magnolia acuminata, etc.); there are also 40 or so tree species listed as provincial key protected species, such as Qingqianliu, Tokyo Baike Mu, and Leichang Hanxiang, etc. The herbaceous plants in Sanbaoshan are also very rich. For example, Angelica sinensis, Ligustrum lucidum, Dendrobium officinale, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, and Polygonatum odoratum are all precious Chinese medicinal herbs. In addition, due to the high and deep terrain of Sanbaoshan and the scarcity of human habitation, within an area of several tens of kilometers, there are no people living. The original vegetation is well-preserved, and there are ancient trees towering in the hinterland, lush vegetation, and a high forest coverage rate. It is also an ideal place for wild animals to live and reproduce. Currently, 1,361 species of wild animals have been discovered in the scenic area, including 38 species under national first-class protection, 48 species under provincial key protection, and 28 species belonging to national key protected higher animals, such as clouded leopard, golden cat, capercaillie, and Chinese zebra deer.

The Sanba Mountain preserves a complete natural subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystem. Its forest coverage rate is as high as 98%, and the concentration of negative ions in the air can reach up to 100,000 per cubic centimeter at its peak. In 2020, it was rated as "China's Natural Oxygen Bar" by the Central Meteorological Bureau. The average summer temperature is 23.3℃ (the annual average temperature is 15.1℃), with a frost-free period of 260 days a year and an average annual rainfall of 1680 millimeters. It is a natural resort for summer relief and health care.

The 300 Mountain is the source of drinking water for the people of Guangdong and Hong Kong. In 1963, Hong Kong suffered from the most severe drought in its history. At that time, the water supply was only once every four days, and each time only for 4 hours. The shortage of water, the difficulty in obtaining water, hunger, thirst and drought plagued 3.5 million people in Hong Kong. After learning about this, Premier Zhou Enlai made an instruction: "Drain the water from the Dongjiang River to help the people of Hong Kong." The central government allocated 38 million yuan specifically in December of the same year to build the Dongshen Water Diversion Project. On March 1, 1965, the Dongshen Water Supply Project officially began to supply water to Hong Kong. Premier Zhou Enlai earnestly instructed the people at the source: "You must protect the water at the source of the Dongjiang River well." The annual water supply of the Dongshen Water Diversion Project increased from the initial 68 million cubic meters to 2400 million cubic meters. It solved 80% of the drinking water needs in Hong Kong, 50% in Shenzhen, and 80% of the water needs in 8 towns in Dongguan. It covered a population of nearly 50 million people. Over the past decades, the people of Anyuan have kept in mind Premier Zhou Enlai's instructions. They sacrificed huge economic interests and did not develop any industries that cause pollution. They have been doing their best to protect the 300 Mountain and keep the water flowing southward with clean water.

甜槠、苦槠、椴书、檫树、枫香为主。其中国家一级保护植物有5种(金钱松、南方红豆杉、苏铁、华南苏钱、伯乐树)，国家二级保护植物有12种(福建柏、红豆树、闽楠、半枫荷、凹叶厚朴等)；列入省级重点保护的树种有青钱柳、东京白克木、乐昌含笑等40余种。三百山的草本植物也很丰富，如八角莲、七叶一枝花、铁皮石斛、金线莲、黄精等都是名贵中草药。除此之外，三百山由于山高谷深，人迹罕至，方圆几十公里无人居住，原生植被保存较好，腹地内古树参天，植被繁茂，森林覆盖率高，也是野生动物生息繁衍的理想场所。目前在景区内发现了1361种野生动物，其中国家级保护的38种，省级重点保护的48种，属于国家重点保护的高等动物有云豹、金猫、毛冠鹿、中华鬣（liè）羚等28种，

三百山保存了自然完备的亚热带常绿阔叶林生态系统，森林覆盖率高达98％、空气中的负离子浓度最高瞬时可达10万个／㎝³，2020年被中央气象局评为“中国天然氧吧”。夏季平均气温为23.3℃（全年平均气温为15.1℃），一年中无霜期有260天，年平均降雨量达到1680毫米，是天然的避暑康养胜地。

三百山是粤港同胞饮用水的发源地。1963年，香港遭遇了史上最为严重的旱灾，当时的香港每四天供水一次，每次仅供水4小时，喝水难、用水难、饥渴、干旱困扰着350万香港同胞。周恩来总理得知后，作出批示“引东江之水济香港同胞”，中央政府在同年的12月拨3800万元专款修建东深引水工程。1965年3月1日，东深供水工程正式向香港供水，周总理深情嘱托源头人民“一定要保护好东江源头水”。东深供水工程年供水量从最初的0.68亿立方米增加到了24亿立方米，解决了香港80%，深圳50%，东莞8个镇80%的生活用水，覆盖人口近5000万人。几十年来，安远人民牢记周恩来总理嘱托，牺牲巨大的经济利益，做到封山弃矿、退耕还林，不发展任何带有污染的工业，一直尽心尽力的守护着三百山，保持着一江清水向南流。
